Faux Hawk

Aunt Stef came to visit this past weekend and decided to spice things up. Stef thought that Baby-Baby needed a faux-hawk. A little mousse and woila - a baby faux hawk!

Someday we will have piggy tails like the big girls. :)

Black Butte Trip

We went to Black Butte Ranch on President's Day weekend (2/15 - 2/17) with our friends; the Loewen, Hoda and Cochrane families. We couldn't have asked for better weather, it was 50 degrees, sunshine and snow everywhere. It was our first trip as a large groups since we have all kids. Needless to say that things are a little different than they used to be. Instead of late nights we have early mornings and the empty bottles were from the babies and not from us...

Even though things may be different, they are still terrrific. Here is a slideshow of some of the pictures from the weekend. Enjoy!

Valentine's Day

Olivia did pretty well for herself on her first Valentine's day. She received her first rose from her Dad. She was very curious about it and thought that it looked delicious! Here are some pictures of her getting her rose in her Valentine's outfit:

We had a late Christmas/early New Years celebration with my Dad on December 27. The day was full of eating, cooking and playing cards. One of our family traditions is to create little pigs out of lemons as good luck charms for the upcoming year. It is a Austrian tradition that my Dad has shown us and one that we have done all throughout our childhood. We got pretty creative with some of our pigs this year as you can see from the group shot shown above.

2007 was a really busy year for us and we look forward to 2008 and all of the wonderful memories that it will bring. Happy New Year to all of you!

A White Christmas with the Hamilton Family

We had a great Christmas celebration with the Hamilton family on the 25th. It snowed all day and we spent a wonderful day together eating, playing and opening gifts. Olivia got a rocking horse that she abosutely loves, it makes her squeal with delight everytime that she sees it. Here are some pictures from our day together:

Christmas with the Zollner Family

We thoroughly enjoyed our first Christmas with Olivia. We were able to take some extra days off work and spend time with our families. Olivia loved having all of the relatives around, I don't think that she ever sat down by herself or went to bed on time. We had Christmas #1 with my Mom and sisters on the 23rd of December.

We also got another present that we weren't expecting, my sister Litti got engaged to her boyfried Mike! We are very excited to welcome Mike into the family (get ready Mike!) and Brody is thrilled to have another man in the family.

The Perfect Tree

This past weekend we went out in search of Olivia's first Christmas tree. The weather was cold and someone (we won't mention who) only gave us 15 minutes to pick out our perfect Christmas tree. Luckily the farm we went to had a lot of great trees so it was easy to do. Even though it was cold, we had a great time and Olivia picked out a beautiful tree!

Brad & Kristi's Wedding

On October 13, my sister Kristi (this is Brigitte speaking) married her longtime boyfriend Brad. As many of you know, Brad and Kristi are some of the sweetest and nicest people you could ever meet and are truly meant for each other. The wedding was perfect and a day we will never forget. Of course we have to share some pictures from this wonderful day with all of you. We have included just a few. Enjoy!

We are having a lazy Saturday and thought that we would post some new pictures since we have the time. The first picture listed below was inspired by Brody - he wanted to prove to Olivia's aunts that he is setting the sock wearing guidelines for the house. No short socks for Baby-Baby, she will wear her socks pulled up just like her Dad!

The other picture is from last weekend when we had Olivia all bundled up for a walk at Minto Brown park with Uncle Brady, Aunt Kristin and cousin Marley. Everything is going well for us, we are trying to get ready for the holidays as we know Christmas will be here before we know it. Hope all is well with everyone out there. Trick or Treat!

We had a great time on Olivia's first Halloween. She wore her casual ghost costume to daycare and then she had her chili pepper costume for the real deal. We were joined by a kangaroo (Emorie) and a princess (Rylee). The little girls made it two houses and then went back home and stayed warm with the Daddy patrol. I am sure that Olivia will be walking next year and we won't get off that easy ever again. Here are a couple pictures of the girls on Halloween night (and you have no idea how difficult it was to get these couple of pictures!):

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the Pumpkin Patch with our great friends, the Loewen and Hoda families. It was a beautiful sunny day and it was a great experience for our three first timers; Olivia, Emorie and our favorite baby boy, Jacob. We picked out pumpkins, visited the petting zoo and ate our fair share of apple cider donuts and kettle corn.

Back to Work

We are now officially back to work. After two weeks of a part time schedule we had our first full day at work and daycare today. Things are going well for both of us after a small period of adjustment.

Things have been busy getting back into work schedule but we have managed to keep dressing Olivia up. Here are some recent pictures:

Hello everyone,

We are checking in again. It is the end of August and we are almost at the end of our time at home. The time has gone by really quick and we are now getting ready to go back to work and daycare.

Olivia is growing quickly and learning new things all of the time. Here are some recent pictures of her trying to sit up, it is cute but it doesn't usually last too long!

2 months old!

We can't believe it but Olivia is already two months old! She is smiling and talking/cooing quite a bit these days. She also had her two month check up at the peditrician today and she is doing very well. She is weighing in at 10lbs and 11 ounces and she is 22 1/2 inches tall. That puts her in the 72% for her weight and 77% for her height. She is going to be taller than me by the time she is five if she keeps growing at that rate!

Olivia's First Vacation

We went to Sisters for a small break this past weekend. It was Olivia's first mini-vacation. We went over with Brody's parents and had a great time!

Olivia did great in the car, sleeping most of the time. She made a new friend at the house where we stayed, it was a celing fan and she thought that it was the best thing since sliced bread. She spent much of the weekend smiling and talking to the fan.

While Olivia was playing with the fan, the rest of us relaxed, enjoyed the beautiful weather and Brody and his Dad even played 18 holes of golf at the Aspen Lakes golf course.

Having Fun

Hello everyone,

Checking in on week seven of my leave. Time is flying by - we can't believe that Olivia will be six weeks old this Wednesday. We have a pretty good routine established by now and are getting a fair amount of sleep (not all at once but if you add it all up it's not too bad).

We have been lucky enough to have a lot of help from our family and friends and we couldn't have done it with out them. Everyone has been very helpful in keeping the house clean, preparing meals and holding Olivia (everyone's favorite job). We greatly appreciate all of the help and have really enjoyed spending time with everyone.

Speaking of Olivia, she is changing and learning new things everyday. She is smiling and becoming much stronger. Brody is sure that she will talking any day now! We are all doing well and love life with our little girl. We will check back in again soon.

Olivia is now 3 weeks old and her lungs are starting to develop well. We each have our different ways of coping when she has gotten a little cranky. Kona has found his own way to deal with the noise:) There are moments when she is quite peaceful and angelic. We have included pictures of both occasions. Things are going well and we will write again soon - go beavers!

Well Miss Olivia made her debut on Wednesday, May 30 at 5:38 pm. Labor went well (considering it was labor) and we are so happy that she has arrived. Here are some pictures from Olivia's first week. Enjoy!

Well, it is the evening of Wednesday May 29th and still no Olivia. She is now almost 6 days overdue. Apparently she is going to be as on time to events as her Aunt Kristi! At this point it looks like we will be going to the hospital tomorrow to be induced. At least we know the wait is almost over. As soon as we get pictures of Miss Olivia we will post them.
